Gurdaspur: Question raised on missing name of woman from FIR in murder case of Canada returned man

Gurdaspur May 6, 2024: Questions are being raised over the absence of the name of the woman from the FIR registered in the murder case of a youth who recently returned from Canada. The dead body of a young man who recently returned from Canada was found by the Tibber village police in Gurdaspur. As per the CCTV footage recovered, a woman and man have reportedly mutilated the body of the deceased.
On April 22, the body of 26-year-old Jashanpreet, a resident of village Kot Kesra Singh, police station Jhander, Fatehgarh Churian, who had returned from Canada a few days ago, was found in a small ditch on the roadside in village Kothe under police station Tibbar.
Although the man caught on the CCTV footage has already been taken on police remand and has been sent to jail after interrogation, the woman is even missing from the FIR.
According to the family, the deceased youth had gone from his home saying that he was going to his friend's birthday party. Later, a video also surfaced in which a youth and a woman were seen throwing the body into a ditch.
Based on the statements of the family, Gurpreet Singh Goldy, a friend of the deceased youth, a resident of village Sarawan, police station Sadar Gurdaspur, and an unknown person were registered and arrested. No action was taken by the police against the woman.
Naginder Singh, the father of the deceased youth Jashanpreet, has sent a complaint letter to the DGP, IG, and SSP Gurdaspur of Punjab Police in which he told that the Tibbar police had information that all the accused came in a white car and a motorcycle and the said woman was also with them.
In the video, it is seen that she is dragging Jashanpreet's body along with another youth and throwing it in the ditch on the side of the road.
According to the family members of the deceased youth, the woman has been identified, but due to unknown reasons, she is not included in the FIR by the officer investigating the case.
Maluk Singh, Babehali a relative of the deceased youth, and Naginder Singh, father of the deceased Jashanpreet, have warned that they do not want to trouble the police during the election days, but if they do not get justice, they will seek justice for the murder of their young son. They will not back down from walking even on the path of struggle to get it.
SHO of Tibbar police station Amrit Pal Randhawa informed that the identity of the woman is not yet known. The case is being investigated and if the woman is identified during the investigation, she will be arrested, he said.
SSP Gurdaspur Dayma Harish Kumar said that the family of the deceased youth should have faith in the police as the SIT has already been constituted in the case. .
